Dr. Susan Myers Visits French V at Liberty North High School

Today, January 27,  Dr. Susan Myers, Chair of Languages and Professor of French at William Jewell, once again visited the French V class of Liberty North High School and Liberty High School. She had the privilege of leading the class through a lesson on French Impressionism, introducing students to Impressionist painting, poetry and music while building vocabulary and speaking skills. Thanks to Madame Snead for the invitation and thanks to her students who warmly welcomed her into their class! Dr. Myers appreciated their enthusiastic participation and eagerness to learn.

A poem by Alexandra Millhuff in FRE 315

Alexandra Millhuff, FRE 315
In FRE 315 Introduction to French Studies this fall, students read Paul Éluard's poem "Faire vivre" describing the rise of the French Resistance and its love of liberty. Our student, Alexandra Millhuff chose for her presentation topic to imagine how, if she were a fighter in the resistance, she would express her experience in a poem and to share her original piece with the class. She did such a wonderful job, we're happy to share it with you.
