Students of French and Chinese Present at the 2016 Department of Languages Recital

Advanced students of French and Chinese presented research and creative writing at the 2016 Department of Languages Recital.

Students of FRE 353 French Civilization and Poetry undertook creative writing with the help of their assistant, Paola Paci and lessons in prononciation and practiced reciting poetrey. For the recital they chose their favorite original poem to introduce and recite. Below is the class PowerPoint as a movie for your enjoyment. Since everyone did so well, we've decided to embed all the presentations this semester. You choose your favorite!
Following the poetry presentations, Jessica Harmon of Chinese 350 Chinese Culture gave her speech on Chinese festivals.
Jenny Nelson's presentation was a review of book L'ombú by Elise Dallemagne-Cookson that was part of her independent study on the literature and film of contemporary France.
Wrapping up the Recital came four student who are finishing their French programs this semester with research into cultural aspects of the French Middle Ages. Spencer Bush and Haley Sheriff are completing their minors and Jenny Nelson and Leah Rutliff are finishing their majors.
Congratulations to all the students presenting this semester! They've done a wonderful job.
